Damp Proofing What Can We Do For You?
Most dwellings are built with a damp proof course it is there to prevent water from rising up from the ground and through the structure of the building it forms a horizontal barrier close to the ground level of a building this is to prevent the passage of water from the ground passing this point.
Rising damp is most common in older buildings where the existing damp proof course has failed if this is the case then it is usually best to inject the mortar joints between the bricks with a specialist BBA approved damp proof cream which stops water from tracking up into the masonry via capillary action.
